Profile
She was born and raised in Tokyo, and has always enjoyed drawing and creating things since she was a child. Her father, a filmmaker, exposed her to dance performances by the Sankai Juku and stage productions such as Hamlet, which had a significant impact on her.
While studying at Kanazawa College of Art and Crafts, she became interested in computer graphics and silkscreen printing. After graduating in 2000, she returned to Tokyo and worked as a creator at an event production company.
In 2017, she moved with her family of three to Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where she continued to create art alongside running a design office after completing her term as a regional revitalization coordinator.
Her works are inspired by dreams she has at night and the imagination she had as a child reading children's literature. She values a world of imagination where good and evil are mixed freely. She continues to create works that give a sense of humor and hope while also evoking a strange, dark feeling.
She also works as an adjunct instructor of art at a Catholic middle school.
